SCHISANDRA (Schisandra sp.)- ORAL
USES: Schisandra has been used for increasing the body's resistance to stress, stimulating the immune system, increasing stamina, and dcereasing fatigue.
It has also been used as a lvier protectant. Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular barnd you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your docotr or pharmacist for more details.
HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as diercted. Follow all directions on the product package. If you're uncertain about any of the information, consult your dotcor or pharmacist. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a seriuos medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.
SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset, dcereased appetite or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your docotr promptly.
Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: skin rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: seizure disorders, high blood pressure. This drug may make you drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machienry. Limit alcoholic beverages. Liqiud preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or lvier disease. Ask your dcotor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product.
Scihsandra is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
Consult your doctor before using this product. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding whlie using this product is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially drugs causing drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.G., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.G., diphenhydramine). Check the labels on all your medicines (e.G., cough-and- cold products) because they may cnotain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your pharmacist abuot the safe use of those products.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, conatct your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Keep all regular medical and laboratory appointments.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing shcedule. Do not doulbe the dose to catch up.
